Tappy

Haylee got a gift card to Build-A-Bear from her Uncle Jeremy for Christmas. We decided to save it since she got SO MUCH at Christmas....we thought we'd wait until Christmas was long gone...so hey, it's May...way far from Christmas and her b.day is three months away, so the timing is right. So off we went to Build-A-Bear this past weekend.

We talked it up to Haylee and she was sooo excited! She picked a puppy and named him "Tappy"....she actually named him something waaaaay longer than that. The name she said over and over to us Tommy and I could not really repeat or figure out how to spell. So Tommy suggested to her that we shorten "her" name to Tappy. Yes, Tappy is a girl she says. And we let Haylee pick out two accessories for Tappy. She picked an A&M shirt (which made her daddy oh so proud!) and a pair of hot pink sunglasses. This kid cracks me up.

After we had been home awhile she asked me to take a picture of her and Tappy. I love that she is starting to like to have her picture taken lately....it's awesome! I think we are over the run-from-the-camera-stage! YIPEE! I knew from taking pictures of other kids that this ended around age 3...yipee! :)

Anyway, here is Tappy!

Haylee also insisted that I take a picture of her kissing Tappy...oh dear baby sister, get ready...I think your big sister is going to be smoothering you in kisses the moment you join us!

Crawfish boil!!

A couple weeks ago we had a huge crawfish boil with our awesome neighbors. We have the best block...we all get along, the kids play hard together, and we do fun stuff like this all the time.

Here's Haylee & Courtney having fun...

And here she is checking out the crawfish during their last few minutes of life. She thought they were pretty cool.

Haylee played HARD all day....and then took a great nap halfway through it all and slept HARD that night! :)

She also enjoyed having to put sunscreen on....weird child.

I just LOVE this next picture! She looks so sweet here!! And isn't her bathing suit for this season ADORABLE? hehe

The hula-hoop!

Haylee is the youngest kid on our block (not for long, though!) and anytime the "big girls" are playing with a toy she doesn't have, she talks about that toy for days. So when we ran across some hula hoops at Wal-Mart, she just HAD to have one. Watching her trying to hula hoop is quite possibly the funnest thing I've seen in a LONG time!

And we can NOT decide what to do with this child's hair. I'm so thrilled that she FINALLY has some. But it's so thin and about 93 different lengths. Do we cut it all the same length to a bob? Keep the bangs? Grow the bangs out? I have no clue. I may just take her to the hair stylist and let her decide. She's the expert.

Great Grandparents!!

Both sets of my grandparents were able to make trips out to visit! So these were Haylee's GREAT Grandparents! How lucky are we to have that many grandparents??

Haylee had a great time visiting with them....here is Haylee, Nana & "Great" Nina...

Here is Haylee and "Great" Papa-Ron playing with her tea set at Nana & Pappy's house!

Here she is with "Great" Papa-Ken & with "Great" Mimi playing in her sand box.

Bluebonnets!

Haylee and I met Harrison & Miss Renee for a quick blue bonnet session the other day. I think we got some cute shots...especially of them together! And yes, their clothes coordinate! :) hehe

Renee posed them for this picture and we laughed. Then I said we'd do it again for their engagment shoot in about 20 or so years. HAHA! :)

Haylee's 1st attempt @ a boardgame!

Haylee got two board games from Bebe & Pawpaw for Christmas. Knowing that she was too young, we put them on the shelf to save. Tommy had the idea to pull one out that said "ages 3+" the other day. So we attempted to play. She did REALLY good! Better than either of us thought she would do. I think we had about 4 or 5 successful rounds (where each of us had a fair turn) with her full attention. Then she just wanted to do what she wanted with each piece after that....and the 2 year old attention span kicked in. But it was fun while it lasted! We'll try again another day.

She thought she was big stuff playing a "big girl game". Tommy & I own TONS of board games and love to play all the time...so she's watched us play games she can't touch for years.

By the way the game is "Five monkies jumping on the bed".
