Fall Festival

Haylee's preschool has a huge fall festival every year. We did not realize how huge until the day of the event. The day started with the preschool kids singing in the church's morning worship service. Well....the other children sang, but our child stood their with her hands by her face. Here is the best shot I got of her:

From her two dance recitals, two Christmas dance performances and now this singing show....the performing arts just might not be her thing.

After the church service, the fall festival began. We hung out with Natalie and her parents. Here's Haylee and Natalie on the train ride:

I LOVE this picture of Haylee looking back at Natalie...too cute!

And of course the jump house...

Haylee got to get her hair colored at the festival...what a big girl, huh? She choose purple because for the past year or so that has been her favorite color.

Rylee rode around in her stroller for the entire fall festival enjoying a grilled cheese from Sonic and some water. She is a mess....and will clearly be our "challenge" over the next couple of years. Pray for us.

Pick-A-Duck game...do you see Rylee in the back plotting how she is going to screw this up for her sister? That's her job daily.

And bean bag toss.

It was fun...more fall/pumpkin/Halloween fun to come too! :)

Pumpkin Patch 2011

One of Haylee's most favorite places...The Pumpkin Patch! She has been looking forward to this for months. I think Rylee had fun this year too...but she is not into wearing her pumpkin hat or taking pictures.

Rylee @ The Patch in 2010:

And Rylee @ The Patch in 2011: (wow, lots of growth in ONE year!)

HAPPY FALL!

September

I am doing one blog post for the entire month of September because I am so far behind and I need to get caught up before the holidays are here. :)

We went to the park one day and flew a kite...the girls loved it!

Haylee got to come to one of Mommy's football games...she loves doing this each year. She stretched with "Mommy's Girls" and said hello to Big-Irv (the tiger).

One day at preschool everyone dressed up like what they want to be when they grow up. Haylee says she wants to be "a cooker"...

Our buddy Harrison's Mommy had another baby...now he has a little sister too! This was our attempt at getting a picture of all four: Haylee, Rylee, Harrison & Avery.

One weekend Daddy created this huge pirate scavenger hunt for Haylee...it was complete with treasures and a pirate battle at the end! Haylee loved it.

We took Haylee to see Lion King 3D at the movie theater.

And the big exciting event...Haylee went on her first field trip at preschool to The Circle of Sciences. I took the day off and enjoyed it with her...

Poor Rylee

Almost three weeks ago, I received a call at work from the babysitter. Rylee hurt her leg at the park...

So...off to the ER we go. Turns out she broke her leg!!!! It was a "buckle fracture" and is "very common" in children 9 months - 2 years learning to walk. The doctors said that their little bones are so spongy that it doesn't take much to break them. Lovely. So the ER doctors put a temporary stint on her little leg and we made an appointment with a pediatric orthopedic for the next day.

At the Orthopedic, we learned that the cast was going to be a FULL LEG cast. Lovely. But, she would only have to wear it for 2 weeks (YES!).

She actually got around really good in that thing. Sleeping wasn't the most comfortable thing in the world...but she made due. She's really a trooper.

She got the cast off on Thursday and is enjoying sleeping comfortably and playing in the dirt outside...here's a picture before we left for church today. :)
