Florida, Part 1: The beach!

Well, we did it. We loaded up 17 pieces of luggage (including all carry-ons) and went to Florida last week. Haylee was great on the airplane....Rylee was as good as she could be...let's just say 11.5 months is a HARD age for flying. But my mom was super Nana and took care of her over half the flight. Thank God for Nana.

Anyway...we got to Mimi & Pawpaw's house Friday and just hung out and visited. Saturday was our big beach day. My Aunt Jenny's boyfriend (and good friends of my parent's from high school!) lives in a condo on Cocoa Beach. So we invaded his condo for the day to enjoy some sun. He was so generous and even let our girls take naps in his bedroom and guest room...very nice!

This first picture is the view from his balcony!! Pretty amazing, huh?

The girls LOVED the beach! I taught Haylee how to build a sand castle (side note: Mommy's sand castle is much better than Daddy's....haha), we attempted to teach Haylee to boogie board (maybe next time!), got lots of sun (especially Tommy), drank some beer, collected sea shells and Rylee ate her fair share of sand. At one point Rylee was on her belly in the sand LICKING the sand! What is wrong with this child??

We ended our day with some yummy sea food on Cocoa Beach with Aunt Jenny, Scott, Pappy, Nana, Aunt Steph, Paul, Mimi & Pawpaw. All in all....a great beach day!

Stay tuned for more on our Florida trip...
