Safari Park

Haylee & I met up with Miss Renee & Harrison this past Monday at Safari Park. It's an indoor play area decorated like a safari. There's lots to do like riding a little train, playing with various table toys (trains, kitchens, etc.), a ball pit, a trampoline, a putt putt coarse, and these rather creepy looking robotic animals that the kids can ride on. Of course the creepy robotic animals was their favorite thing...HA!

Here's a few shots of their first train ride....

Here's Haylee on the zebra! :)

Here's the two of them playing with a train table...

They're so trained with the camera, I just love it! We of course posed them in front of the water fall! :)

Here's their 2nd train ride.....

And the 2nd ride on the zebra! :)

We had a great time...and finished our morning with lunch at Chick-fil-A!
Here is a lovely belly picture of me for the family that lives far away (& Kristin C. who requested this...LOL!). Apparently I thought I smiled, but I didn't. Oh well! This was about a week and a half ago. I have ONE WEEK left! I am being induced next Thursday, the 24th, if she doesn't decide to come before that on her own...

First week of summer

This week was the first official week of summer in our house and we actually did a lot! Mr. Keith came in town and Tommy and Keith went on their yearly summer baseball trip where they go visit a new baseball stadium. This year was Milwaukee. Keith came in Sunday afternoon so that he could visit with Haylee and I and then they flew out Monday morning. Here's a picture of Haylee and Keith playing...they had lots of fun!

On Monday Haylee and I went to a special story time at the library where two clowns from the Ringling Brothers Circus lead storytime. We went with our good friends Harrison & Miss Renee and got to meet new friends Carson, his brother Griffin and their mommy Danielle. (they are good friend's of Harrison and Renee's) The kiddos had fun...here's a picture of H & H waiting for it to start. These kids are so trained when it comes to the camera...LOL!

After storytime we lined up to get their pictures taken with the clowns...this picture cracks me up: Haylee was not interested in taking her picture with this clown, Harrison is obviously proud of his belly, and Carson was too into the clown to look at the camera...HAHA!

Then the other clown was handing out DVD's, so Haylee posed for a picture in exchange for an elephant DVD that we've watched twice now and is OH SO BORING!!

We also started private siwm lessons with Miss Moe...who is a good friend of ours. I went to high school with her husband and his dad was our high school youth minister back in the day...so we all go WAAAY back! Anyway, here is a picture of Haylee and Miss Moe the first day of swim lessons! :)

Haylee's 1st dance recital!

Haylee had her first dance recital last weekend! She took dance in the 2 year old class at my best friend from college's studio. When I used to teach at a studio, we only taught 3 years and up and I must say I am really impressed with what 2 year olds can do! I was shocked! They basically did what the 3 year olds did that I used to teach...impressive!

Anyway....it was fun and Haylee had a blast "dancing on the big stage."

Here are some pictures of her getting ready....don't mind the crazy hair, we hadn't fixed her hair yet (and she's had a hair cut since these pics too!)...

This next picture is at the dress rehearsal while we were sitting and waiting for her turn...

Here I am with my girl before her big performance (ha!). Thank goodness that tutu is big enough to cover my giant pregnant self! :)

And here's one with her proud Daddy! :)

This is her teacher, Miss Nicole, who I used to teach with. We also went to high school together and church youth group years ago! :)

Here's one shot of her on stage....all the other pics I shot had other kids in the picture and I didn't feel right posting pictures of someone else's kid online.
For family members who don't live near us....I video taped the dress rehearsal performance and we bought the professional DVD that should be in sometime in July so you can all see it! :)

Memorial Day 2010

Last weekend we were busy...Tommy got some yard work done and Haylee and I did more prepping for baby in doors. My list of "to-do's" before her arrival is ALMOST cleared! I hope to be done in the next few days.

Anyway, I pulled out all the bottles...whew...I forgot how many you have to have. WOW! I cleaned the bottles, sterilized the nipples, and put the bottles away. Meanwhile I gave Haylee one bottle for her baby doll. She literally sat and "fed" her baby for about 30 or 40 minutes. HILARIOUS!

...and like any mommy of a little baby, you watched some TV while feeding her baby :)

While I was taking these pictures she told me this:

"Mommy, when baby stista gets here, you can sit on one couch and feed her and I'll sit on the other couch and feed my baby."

LOL!! Everyday she tells me something new we're gonna do together with baby sister. In fact, today in the car she told Tommy and I that she was going to put baby sister in her car seat and buckle her seat belt. She sure seems excited about this baby...I hope the baby isn't too much of a disappointment to her when she just lays there and does nothing. LOL!

Check out all this junk! Seriously...TWO tubs full of bottles and nursing supplies. Whew. You really forget after a few years how much stuff babies come with!

The evening of Memorial Day our block had a cook-out...complete with summer food, bubbles and plastic horse shoes for the kiddos, adult beverages for those not pregnant, and a hammock that Haylee thought was the coolest thing ever!
Here's a picture of Haylee on the hammock with Courtney and Delani...Haylee LOOVES to play with the big girls on the street. She wants sooo bad to be as big as them! :)

Doesn't everyone's kid use plastic horse shoes as tutus?? :)

HAPPY SUMMER!! :)

For my Nina!

Hey Nina...here is the picture I promised a

The Frank Buck Zoo

My sister and her friend, Ornella, were in town visiting this past weekend. So we decided to take Haylee to the Frank Buck Zoo. It's a smaller zoo....but GREAT for Haylee's age b/c it doesn't take long to see everything and it's never crowded!

Here are some pictures from our day...

Nana & Haylee walking into the zoo..

Pappy & Haylee checking out the flamingos!

Haylee taking a peek at the bunny rabbits. She thought they were cute!

Feeding the goats with Aunt Steph...

It was VERY HOT! Can't you tell by our matching pink cheeks??? :)

Finger Paints!

So apparently this is the week of "let's pull out Christmas gifts we haven't used yet". Maybe it's the anticipation of summer coming and us having lots of extra time to play. Anyway, we gave Haylee some finger paints for Christmas and just haven't used them yet....well we pulled them out the other day and she had SOOOO much fun with it! We've painted plenty of times, just never finger paints. Here are some pictures of the fun...
